Crystalynn Tarr

Working to render locally foraged soil and rocks into paints that I use to depict the local plant and wildlife has become a way to deepen my sense of place and identity. I have been working exclusively in soil paint since 2014 and am consistently amazed at the variety of colour and wonders of creation. 
Rendered Earth Studio is located in the basement of the Nordegg Community Church, one of the last historic buildings left in the hamlet of Nordegg. It is a space for all things creative and community. A place to connect, have conversation, classes from local and visiting artists, mentorship and a place to cultivate friendships and broaden our horizon. 
I hope you find inspiration and a sense of deep gratitude for our temporary dwelling place in my work and in the studio.
